Brian,
You did a fantastic job of unfolding the facts and figures regarding our obscene local tax structure. I think when more residents realize what is happening to them they may come out and want to get involved. Plus when businesses start seeing regular customer heading to lower taxed grounds maybe they can put the pressure on our village council. Sadly we venture into Roselle and Elk Grove to dine out... it's just out of principle. But on the other end, purchasing durable goods... if I was going to spend many thousands of dollars remodeling my house saving 1% is just that. Why wouldn't you?

I'd like to get some young registered voters behind your movement. Maybe call it S.A.V.E. The Schaumburg Active Voting Effect. Letting young voters know what they are having to live with, and letting them know they can make a difference might be stimulation enough.

My adult children frequent the nightlife scene here in town and I don't really think they know they can do anything about the 12% tax. With knowledge is empowerment.

Again you did a quite professional job explaining your position and solutions. Let's hope they all don't have deaf ears.

          I'm with you, -tom2-
