Read this carefully… And I have to remind you that this is Schaumburg/Chicago 2nd highest in the nation for traffic congestion.

How in the whole world can 7400 drivers get picked and then 7099 or so get fined? Do that many cars, pass through a red light in 5 weeks???

This based on: “Red Speed Illinois sent 7,403 violations to the Village of Schaumburg, of which 7,099 were approved. Collecting $133,231.98 in new revenue from Nov 16th to Dec 23rd.”

Anyways, I glad you posted this article.
I’m all for these cameras if each suspected violation goes through a manual review with human eyes looking at it. Then we can say, “yeah that moron did not stop” after looking at video. I seriously hate all those idiotic drivers that don’t stop and think they have the right of the way to make a right turn when they have a red. I can’t tell you how many times I go through an intersection (with a green)… and see these people decide to stop at the last minute when they see me coming. Their whole front half of the car is already in the damn intersection! All this crap really doesn’t reduce accidents anyway, because there are also those idiots that make the turn and think they can floor it without me hitting them in the back. Why should I have to put on the brakes when they are not suppose to turn?

The only reason is because I drive a Lexus and they drive a Honda.

If it wasn’t us that caused the red light camera’s to be shut off then who was it? I would like to meet them and shake their hand and find out how they did it. Especially without going to the Village board meetings, being known to the public, the newspapers or anything like that.
