New Schaumburg Firefighter Contract Boosts Average Pay to $91,837

The Village of Schaumburg’s Village Trustees approved a new firefighters contract on Tuesday April 20th. In the new collective bargaining agreement wages were increased 7.1%.
Firefighters Union Contract 2008-2011
Using the Village of Schaumburg’s 2009 wages obtained through FOIA act, we can see what a 7.1% increase for these positions will entail, ceteris paribus.
Prior to the new contract, the average annual wage in the Fire Department was $86,532. After the 7.1% pay hike the average annual wage in the Fire Department will be $91,837. The contract only affects Firefighters and Lieutenants highlighted in red below.
