In a survey of the existing studies on red light cameras, there are at least 9 studies that raise significant concerns about red light cameras. Each of these studies reports that red light cameras increase accidents instead of preventing them.

The time is ripe for a top-to-bottom review of the convention center/hotel by a probing Village Board or independent citizen committee.

Sunday’s Daily Herald cover story broke the news about …

Village employees handed out a flyer that was in direct response to harsh criticism the Village has received in regards to numerous examples of wasteful spending highlighted by the Schaumburg Freedom Coalition over the last few years.

The citizens of Schaumburg deserve a full account of the truth in regards to this misleading flyer and the below article is part one of the response to the Village’s flyer.

The secrecy, deception, and total lack of due diligence in the determination of this blight expansion is an outrage.

Let’s take a second look at Village salaries before we permanently commit to a new huge property tax that will punish local residents and businesses.

Since the building was actually vacant for less than one year before the purchase on January 4, 2007, this building is not eligible for the 7B tax break.

It is unlikely that the Career Education Corporation 7B redevelopment to meet the requirement being “reasonably expected to ultimately result in an increase in real property tax revenue and employment opportunities within the area”.

Career Education says they cannot relocate their headquarters to the vacant building at 231 N Martingale without a 60% property tax break for 10 years. This claim is weak and unsubstantiated.
